Public Soccer Classes for Kids

Small group classes taught by professional coaches in parks, playgrounds, and gyms across Manhattan. Ages 15 months to 12 years.

How It Works

Every SocRoc coach is handpicked and trained by founder James Christie, a former All-American and professional soccer player. Classes are built around age-appropriate skills, real soccer fundamentals, and a lot of energy. The goal is simple: kids leave every class a little better at soccer and a lot happier than when they walked in.

Grown-Up & Me (15 months – 3 years): Our youngest players are paired with a parent, grandparent, or caregiver who joins them on the field. These classes focus on movement, coordination, and getting comfortable with the ball through games and guided activities.

Independent Play (3 – 4 years): Kids play on their own. Classes introduce basic skills like dribbling, passing, and shooting in a structured but playful environment. No adult partner needed.

Ages 5 – 12: As players develop, classes introduce more advanced skills, positional awareness, and small-sided games (2v2, 3v3, 4v4, and up). We don’t play in outside leagues — the focus is skill development and love of the game.

We pay attention to where your child fits in the program. If something isn’t working, tell us — we’ll make adjustments so your kid gets the most out of every class.

Seasons & Registration

SocRoc runs five distinct seasons throughout the year. You can join at any point in a term — tuition automatically prorates to the number of classes remaining.

Can’t commit to a full season? Drop into any class for a single session. There’s a $10 surcharge on top of the per-class rate. The annual enrollment fee ($44.95) applies on your first drop-in each calendar year.

Registering more than one child? We offer 10% off for your second child and 15% off for your third. Email info@socrocnyc.com with the subject line “LOTS OF KIDS” and we’ll send you a personalized discount.

We play in light rain and mist. In the event of extreme weather, we’ll cancel — and all cancellations are posted on the SocRoc homepage. Please check the website rather than emailing, as we can’t respond to individual weather inquiries.

If we cancel a class, your child can make it up by dropping into any other public class during the current season. Makeups do not carry over to the next season.

Not the right fit? You can cancel after the first three classes and receive a refund for the remaining unused sessions, minus a $19.95 cancellation fee. We do not issue refunds or credits after the third class.

Single-session drop-ins are also available if you’d prefer to test the waters before committing to a full term.

The annual enrollment fee ($44.95) is non-refundable and is charged once per calendar year with your first registration.

Registration and payment are processed through Active Network. When you complete your registration, Active Network may prompt you to join their membership program — click “No Thanks.” Their membership is not part of your SocRoc registration. If you accidentally opt in, you can cancel for a full refund by contacting activeadvantage@active.com.
