BBRoc is SocRoc’s basketball program designed to introduce young athletes to the fundamentals of the game in a fun, supportive, and high-energy environment.
Led by Program Director Mo Dioum, BBRoc focuses on helping players build coordination, confidence, and strong basketball fundamentals while developing a lifelong love of sports.
Why BBRoc
BBRoc was created to bring the same professional coaching and structured approach that families love about SocRoc Soccer to the game of basketball.
Our program helps young athletes:
- Develop strong ball-handling and coordination
- Build confidence and teamwork
- Learn basketball in a fun and supportive environment
- Stay active while developing foundational athletic skills
BBRoc classes are designed for beginner and early-intermediate players, and no prior basketball experience is required.
Program Offerings
BBRoc offers both public classes and small private group sessions for young players.
Our sessions focus on:
- Ball handling and dribbling
- Passing and shooting fundamentals
- Footwork and coordination
- Teamwork and sportsmanship
Classes are structured to keep players active, engaged, and learning through games and skill-building drills.
Class Structure
- Ages 3–5: 45-minute classes
- Ages 6+: 60-minute classes
This structure allows younger players to stay engaged while giving older players time to develop skills and game awareness.
Locations
BBRoc currently operates in Manhattan.
Public classes are held outdoors in parks and playgrounds throughout Manhattan during the spring, summer, and fall seasons.
BBRoc plans to expand to indoor locations beginning in Winter 2027.
As the program grows, we plan to expand to additional neighborhoods based on demand.
Public Classes
Our public classes introduce players to basketball in a fun, structured group environment where they can learn the fundamentals while building confidence and making friends.
Private Small-Group Sessions
BBRoc also offers private small-group training for friends, classmates, or school groups who want a more customized basketball experience.
Private groups allow coaches to tailor sessions based on the age, skill level, and goals of the players.
