Coach James lives, eats, drinks, and sleeps soccer. A passion since he was a young child, he has created the perfect career to make soccer his livelihood and give back to the sport that has treated him so well. As a kid, he was a dynamic, dominating mid-fielder and won award after award, made All-Star Teams, lead teams to championships, and secured a Division 1 Scholarship at Philadelphia Textile University. He later turned professional, playing for the Baltimore Spirit, and was called up to the United States National Team. He’s coached at the youth level for decades, earning his National C Soccer License and National Strength and Conditioning Specialist Certification through the NSCA (along the journey.
“Keep it simple! Keep it fun!” is his mantra both on and off the field.
He handpicks and trains every coach at SocRoc and prides himself in creating a small town, boutique-y soccer community. You can still find him coaching on the SocRoc pitch.
“We’re not big sports corporation/conglomeration. I’m from a small town and we treat everybody like they’re family, and that means I still coach.”
